Celebrity Hits and Misses

Who: Katherine Heigl

Wore: Lanvin taupe tulle dress, and David Yurman pearls

Where: The Ugly Truth Premiere in L.A.

Katherine Heigl looked lovely with her classy auburn hair, and her accessories were gorgeous, however, her dress was not. The style and fit of the dress did nothing for her figure, she might as well have worn a paper bag.

Tip Of The Day

Bright colored clothing is a major trend for the 2009-2010 season, but most women are either too scared to wear attention grabbing clothing, or don't know how to wear it correctly. The thing to remember with bright colored clothing is that it attracts attention to whatever part of the body it's on, so only wear it on the flattering parts of your body.

Designer Feature: Vena Cava

Up and coming designers Sophie Buhai and Lisa Mayock met when they were 17. They both attended Parsons where they were rejected from the school's senior show. So, in 2003 they designed a line on their own in Brooklyn, and the label was created in September.
Vena Cava has a layed back california vibe, mixed with a vintage-punk look and hand-drawn prints.

Hottest Trends: Hip-Hop

Break out your mega chains, and bling,
because hip-hop style is in for fall 2009. Just because hip-hop style normally involves baggy pants, and enormous rhinstone necklaces doesn't mean you can't do it in a girly way.
Try pairing funky patterned leggings with sequined tops, and leather pants with funky baseball caps.

Celebrity Hits and Misses

Who: Whitney Port

Wore: Cropped denim button-up, printed Porter Grey short-shorts, lavender ankle wrap Chloe sandals, and an LAI tote.

Where: New York City's West Village

Whitney port was a miss in a shirt that did not fit right at all, however her adorable shorts and tote make up for her mistake up top.

Tip Of The Day

Fashion and Body Proportions
I'm going to take a wild guess and say that when getting dressed this morning you looked in the mirror and thought about how fat you look in those skinny jeans, or how big your arms look in that fitted tank top. But it doesn't take a long, grueling workout at the gym to look hot in your clothes. When putting together an outfit there is one rule you must follow.

Big on top=Small on botton
Small on bottom=Big on top
For example, if you wear a pair of skinny jeans, don't pair them with a super tight tank. Or if you wear a pair of wide-leg trousers don't pair them with a huge bulky sweater.
